Post From 1/23/11:

My blog has a new look... again.

This blog isn't all about books anymore. They still will be the primary focus of the blog, but more frequently will the posts will be centered around other activities & current issues. Same with my Twitter.

Take Care, everyone.

Meeting Ridley & Dave!

I got to go to the Science Fair Tour yesterday! Also very exciting, I got to meet Ridley Pearson himself! If you haven't heard, his family recently moved to China. I asked him why. He said that he wanted to raise both his daughters outside the country. He said that his adopted daughter(I don't know which one.)originally came from China. So he wants to show her her original culture.

Along with with that, Mr. Barry conducted an "explosive" Science experiment involving Diet Coke and Mentos. They both also stated that the same thing happens in Science Fair, but it's much more deadly.

They both took turns reading the except from the book. Then it was time for some questions.

The First: What Is The Main Plot for PETER AND THE SWORD OF MERCY?

The Answer: Paul Harris was right, four is the new three. PETER AND THE SWORD OF MERCY is the sequel to THE SECRET OF RUNDOON. It takes place 20 years after THE SECRET OF RUNDOON. And they stated that almost everything, and everybody has changed.

I asked: What is the main plot for KINGDOM KEEPERS III?

The Answer: Ridley started talking about how he got the idea for THE KINGDOM KEEPERS. He talked about riding the ride, It's A Small World at 2:30 in the morning, and swearing he saw one of the dolls move. He also stated,"KINGDOM KEEPERS takes place in the Magic Kingdom, KINGDOM KEEPERS II takes place in the Animal Kingdom, and KINGDOM KEEPERS III will take place at Epcot, and we're going to lose alot of characters that you didn't expect to lose."

Many more questions were asked, and answered. Then came book signing time, and all I had for book signing was a copy of Peter And The Starcatchers, until my mom said,
Jake, Look!

On the shelf was a copy of Steel Trap, on sale for 50 cents. So I got them both signed!

I got a little picture with Dave And Ridley, and it's kind of messed up, because the battery died right in the middle of it. And Ridley said, "It's Science!"
